I never liked making art that would sit on a wall as much art that was made to be interacted with: worn, touched, and felt.
Being a tattoo artist gives me the opportunity to create meaningful art that my clients carry with them every day, that will age as the body does. The process of getting a tattoo is an intense physical experience for the client, but the tattoo will continue to be felt and experienced long after. It will be observed by many more than a painting in a gallery. It will communicate something about who you are. It will be a conversation starter.
Getting a tattoo generates and releases a lot of energy in the body. Some of the energy that passes between us during the tattoo becomes embedded in it. I want to make sure that you have an experience that you want to take with you when you leave, that you’ll want to talk about when someone points and says, “hey that’s a sick ass tattoo”
